Jackie Lo advised China Eastern Airlines on the Rmb7 billion ($1 billion) subscription of its new A shares and H shares by its parent company, China Eastern Air Holding Company, and its offshore subsidiary. The subscription is still pending regulatory approvals.
Shanghai based partner Harvey Lau advised on a $705 million financing of 12 aircraft for Air China by using a French tax enhanced structure. Clients praised him as "very great in financing deals, especially during the negotiating process".

Lau led the team in a number of lease transactions for China Eastern Airlines this year. One included a $187 million French tax optimised deal by four affiliates of HSBC France as lessors, while another saw the firm advise on two Japanese operating transactions leased by Yamasa and NNB Suzhou Lease valued at $94 million. The airline company also sought the team's counsel for a $550 million pre-delivery payment financing transaction by China Development Bank as financier for over 50 different types of aircrafts.
